CHIKARA’s West Springfield card is finally complete at a whopping 9 matches – that’s, like, one more than any of us can handle – and it’s tag team competition with points at play. CHIKARA has brought in numerous wrestlers known for primarily competing in Canada over the years, ranging from former Young Lions Cup Champion “Canadian Dynamite” Max Boyer to your personal guitar hero Twiggy to the Super Smash Bros. and even Jagged & Shane Matthews, otherwise known as 2.0. Well, 2.0 had better watch out because two new wrestlers from up north will be debuting in West Springfield with the intention to leave all opponents battered and bruised. Hailing from “Somewhere Bad” comes the controversial Badd Boyz, aka Brad & Chad Badd. Which is which is quite irrelevant. The two brothers have built up quite the reputation for taking no nonsense and anyone who has crossed them has received the devastating Badd Move, a move so horrifying that words would not do it justice. They also recently made an impact on the recent Inter-Species Wrestling debut show in Connecticut, beating up UnStable leader Vin Gerard after Gerard attempted to join them as “Vin Badd”. In an entirely unrelated story, the Boyz also revealed that there is a third brother who was kept quiet due to his homosexuality, so perhaps another Badd Boy could turn up in CHIKARA if Brad and Chad make a big impression…

So, now you’ve had all of that, who will they be wrestling? Well, much like Grizzly Redwood will be teaming with Eddie Kingston prior to his and Brodie Lee’s title shot at Los Campeones, Fire Ant will be doing the same, as he will be teaming with his rookie stablemates Green Ant to take on the newcomers. Green Ant teamed with Soldier Ant at Young Lions Cup and failed to get past another notable rookie-bullier, UltraMantis Black, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he’s learned from his mistakes and can form a duo with Fire Ant capable of doing what not many people have done in ISW and that’s take down the Badd Boyz.

Dave Meltzer just reviewed the Dragon Gate USA PPV. Here’s his take on the CHIKARA match.

Hallowicked & Gran Akuma vs. Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw & Fire Ant & Soldier Ant. It appeared several hundred fans were CHIKARA regulars and wanted to will these guys into a show stealing performance. And this would have stolen most shows. They noted that Hallowicked is usually a face, but he was on the rudo side because of an injury. This is Lucha Libre rules, so you don’t have to tag to enter the ring. These guys were all trained by Quackenbush and work together great. A highly entertaining match that was as crisp as an Arena Mexico main event match. The most impressive thing is the timing here was perfect, and unlike the Dragon Gate guys, these guys aren’t out there working with each other four and five nights a week. Match was entertaining throughout. Amasis in particular showed a lot of charisma. Jigsaw is a great flier. The Ants had their cult popularity. Quackenbush came in as the veteran who seemed to be directing things. Jigsaw pinned Icarus in 17:23 with the Omori driver. ****
