A rather unique trios match has concluded the additions to the upcoming Reading card, and it will see the Hydra vs. Order of the Neo-Solar Temple feud rumble on as the mini man monster will team with surfing sensations Cheech & Cloudy to take on UltraMantis Black, Crossbones and their partner, Pinkie Sanchez. Pinkie, who became a semi-regular in 2008, has thus far wrestled strictly on the tecnico side of things, which makes his team with the Order particularly puzzling, and UltraMantis Black’s reaction to this – as seen on a special podcast update – suggests that Pinkie is not a heavy favourite to become a permanent member of the group.

In the latest update to the upcoming February cards, a trios match has been added to the Easton card that may have some big implications on King of Trios. Despite being quite a successful unit in CHIKARA, The UnStable of Vin Gerard, Colin Delaney and STIGMA have not been added to KOT as of this writing, and a victory for them here would make it very difficult for Leonard F. Chikarason to refuse them a spot. However, across the ring from them are three men who will not go down without a fight: The Sea Donsters (Tim Donst & Hydra) and Create-A-Wrestler.

Donst’s issue with the rudos has already been well-documented and will come to a head the night before in Reading, but this may be Donst’s time to focus on the trios tournament, as none of his team are in the competition and a win here may earn them a spot. This will especially be the case for Create-A-Wrestler, whose team with the Super Smash Bros. was eliminated from tournament contention without even being able to wrestle in a match when the SSB were forced to miss the “Revelation X” show. While this is not an official qualifier, if Donst, Hydra & CAW can pull off the victory, maybe CAW will get the spot he clearly wants?

Hot on the heels of the big Order vs. Sea Donsters tag team match in Easton, Philadelphia will see the culmination of a 3 year rivalry the following night as teacher and pupil go one-on-one. Yes indeed, the devious and cunning UltraMantis Black will face the man who he brought into CHIKARA in late 2005, the mini man-monster known as Hydra. Despite both being known for their wacky antics, considering UltraMantis Black’s violent behaviour towards some of his ex-partners, such as Mr. ZERO or Hallowicked, this one could show everyone a fresh side to the former friends.

What, a Saturday update? What gives? Well, this warrants it, as announced for the Easton show is a big grudge match between two teams who have been feuding for over 6 months, but this will be their first direct tag team confrontation, as Tim Donst and Hydra – The Sea Donsters – will face the Order of the Neo-Solar Temple. Both teams have been at each other’s throats since Hydra chose to remain with Donst when Donst returned to the tecnico ranks, and since then their main confrontations have taken place in the form of interference as both have cost the other team either key matches in terms of tag points or championship matches themselves. They even collided in a trios match a few months ago involving Mike Quackenbush and Dr. Cube, with Mantis pinning Hydra in that one. Easton, PA will see their first actual tag match, and with Mantis promising to crush those who have betrayed him in the past, this one could get out of control very, very quickly.

Vin Gerard has been pinned by both Fire and Worker Ant in recent months, and with a title defence against Worker following the events of the Cibernetico, this match could prove vital in determining who will leave New England as the Young Lions Cup Champion.

What a busy Monday for the CHIKARA front office! News left and right today, let’s not waste time and get right into the thick of things!

Back on March 8th of this year, wXw held the second night of their famed “16 Carat Gold Tournament”, and in a non-tournament World of Sport Rules bout, it was a face-off of two “Masters of a Thousand Holds”: “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush took on world famous mat legend Johnny Saint in a true classic that went to a five-round draw. At the end of the bout, the two men agreed to meet again – and as fate would have it, the match is confirmed. Six rounds, World of Sport rules, Quackenbush vs Saint II on November 8th, the first night of “Tag World Grand Prix 2008″.

However, that won’t be the only representation of World of Sport that weekend, as their team for the Tag World Grand Prix tournament itself has been confirmed. Johnny Kidd and Robbie Brookside will both make their CHIKARA debuts in the tournament, as confirmed by wXw over the weekend. Who will they face off with? Will these two Golden Era legends be able to take Tag World for themselves and earn a shot at the coveted CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas titles?
