Welcome to the live results for “A Touch of Class”, the CHIKARA season nine premiere. As a wise, but sometimes childish man once said, “this one needs no hype.” The world’s waiting to see what’s going to happen in the first CHIKARA action since the Bruderschaft formed. What’ll happen? Find out when “A Touch of Class” starts up at approx. 4:00 PM EST.

Preshow Notes: Really strong attendance; probably around 300. Chikarason’s your new ticket ripper, shoved down the chain of command to the rock bottom. Show started late, new host is “Gavin Loudspeaker”…oh wait.

1. Pink Ant vs. Green Ant: New Bruderschaft ring announcer in German just for the BDK guys. Pinkie takes off his mask to reveal a bright head of pink hair. Green Ant coming out strong, but Pinkie’s keeping up with him. Both guys look pretty impressive. Green Ant comes close to a win with a Texas cloverleaf but Pinkie grabs the ropes. Pinkie gets the win with some crazy Burning Hammer variation that killed Green dead. Good opener.

Apologies, but phone errors have put an end to today’s live results. Check our buddy Whittle – over at twitter.com/dlomyhero for official results! Again, we apologize!

Today’s the big day – the final event of CHIKARA’s epic eighth season is upon us, “Three-Fisted Tales” in Philadelphia. In what’s sure to be one of the most memorable cards in quite some time, we finally see the conclusion to the 2009 trilogy of Campeonatos de Parejas matches as Fire Ant and Soldier Ant, Colony representatives and current Campeones, defend their belts against the men they defeated for the titles, The Osirian Portal of Ophidian and Amasis. We’ll also see the conclusion to the big Eddie Kingston vs. Claudio Castagnoli feud today as they square off in a Respect Match. Surely there are going to be some surprises today – will the BDK crew make their impact felt today, as they have in recent months in Philadelphia? Will we finally learn more about their mission and exactly who the heck they are?

Preshow Notes: Very tired today, so excuse me if the details are a bit lacking. Strong crowd, very lively. Attendance estimate is around 280. Both Jigsaw and Akuma are out after not being cleared by doctors.

1. Green Ant, Carpenter Ant [The Colony], Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton [The Throwbacks] vs. Vin Gerard, Colin Delaney, STIGMA [The UnStable] & Brodie Lee: Carpenter Ant still the odd man out with no Colony cape. Sugar D takes down Brodie early and goes for a slam dunk, but Brodie swats him down with a block. Carpenter Ant and STIGMA now, and Carp broke Stigma’s nose again. Bleeding quite a bit here. Gerard and Green Ant now, Gerard and Colin attempt some heelery but Green is on top of things today. Game 2 of the Rudos vs. Tecnicos baseball series is teased, but Brodie’s not having any of the shenanigans. Brodie with a RIDICULOUS running chop on Dasher. All eight men run rampant until Brodie kills Green Ant with the big boot in 11:14. Okay match. Heels spend extra time celebrating their win.

2. Helios vs. Yujiro Kushida: Very similar to last night with a lot of early ground work, but Helios had a lot of Kushida’s tactics scouted with some of unique reversals. Some really cool stuff in this match but just not as good as Kushida’s match with Dos last night. Helios wins with the 630 in 10:46..

3. Tim Donst vs. Player Uno: Very glad to see Uno here on finale weekend! Crowd is heavily behind him, and he’s laying it in early with some heavy chops. Donst is a heavy rudo, resorting to every trick in the book. Donst goes for a Hydralock but Uno turns it into a stunner for two. Uno’s offense tonight is on point, he looks really good doing all sorts of innovative stuff. Uno taps out Donst in 6:17.

4. Hallowicked & Frightmare [Incoherence] vs. UltraMantis Black & Delirious [The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple]: Notable that Crossbones is here on the outside, keeping a keen eye on the front door of the Arena for any BDK business. Really fun and fast paced match so far, Delirious doing a majority of the work for the Order. Delirious and Wicked going buckwild on each other, Shadows Over Heck kicked out of at a one count. Yakuza kick from Wicked on Delirious that should’ve netted the win but Mantis saves him. Delirious with a sick Praying Mantis Bomb on Frightmare in 10:58 to give The Temple their third point.

Intermission. Return is January 31st in the Arena.

5. Mike Quackenbush & Jorge “Skayde” Rivera vs. Icarus & Chuck Taylor [F.I.S.T.]: Small pocket of fans booing Quack again this month. Another really fun, but standard fare tag match. Icarus working over Skayde’s knee in deadly fashion. A bit of miscommunication on F.I.S.T.’s part, but it wasn’t enough as Chuck Taylor tapped Skayde with the Cross Crab in 11:23.

6. CHIKARA Young Lions Cup ~ V3: Player Dos (c) vs. Lince Dorado: Slow start, but Lince picks it up big with an Asai 450 to the outside that looked awesome. Just a real spotty match, feels like a sequence of moves that’s nothing special. Lince goes for the shooting star senton but lands on his ass. Dos just german’d Lince off the apron onto the steps! Insanity! Player Dos hits a frog splash to retain the Cup. Lince was carried out by his stablemates, clearly an attempt to play on Lince’s accident two years ago.

8. Respect Match: Eddie Kingston vs. Claudio Castagnoli: Claudio runs right out the gates and hits a Ricola Bomb for two, only for Kingston to combat with a backfist for two. They keep the pressure going, just brutalizing one another in ridiculous fashion. Just an incredible back and forth match, brutal as all hell. Kingston with a huge tope! They’re brawling on the outside and Claudio throws a CHIKARA trainee in the way of a huge Kingston strike, providing just enough of a distraction to get in a bicycle kick and an Alpamare Waterslide on the apron. Ricola Bomb and Kingston’s out at one! German for two! Clothesline for two and the crowd is strongly behind Kingston. Claudio with a pumphandle off the top…two count! Kingston kicks out! Bicycle knee, uppercut…and Claudio gets the win in 15:53. Awesome match, strong contender for the best this year in CHIKARA. Kingston says he doesn’t respect Claudio. He pushed Claudio and tested him, and Claudio still can’t put his demon away. Says that Claudio and his former tag team partner are shady people, and that he deserves the respect of no one. Backfist and King leaves.

8. CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas ~ V2: Fire Ant & Soldier Ant [The Colony] (c) vs. Ophidian & Amasis [The Osirian Portal];

Primera Caida: Icarus and Akuma are sitting in the entraceway watching closely for who they have to face next. Vokoder is standing in the rafters behind Mantis on commentary, both of them keeping a keen eye on the action. Crowd is split dead even with the two teams. Solid stuff, the guys are going at it strong. Amasis gets the first fall over Fire Ant to put the Portal up 1-0 in 8:23.

Segunda Caida: Ophidian getting the heat on Fire Ant. Fire makes the tag to Soldier…not soon after, Soldier taps Ophidian with the CHIKARA Special in 13:09 to tie it up.

Tercera Caida: Huge sequence of dives to start the fall. Back and forth action, Ophidian and Soldier Ant with some CRAZY slams. Fire Ant goes for the same armbar that they won the belts with, Ophidian attempts to turn it into a pin but gets two counts twice, second one breaking the hold. Colony with twin double stomps for two counts. Super Beach Break attempt shoved off as Ophidian kicks him. Sacrament attempt, Fire Ant rolls out! TKO on Ophidian for two. Death Grip into a suplex, Sacrament attempt on Soldier is good! Two count, kickout! Another Sacrament attempt but the Colony fight out…Super Beach Break and Super TKO for the Colony to retain in 23:15!

BDK is here and they have the mic. Shorter one says a war is coming and he’s tired of waiting. Tecnicos come out, Quack and Claudio stand face to face. “Dont insult me, send me the man with the real power!”, pointing at Mantis and Vokoder. They come out…Mantis says he’s sick of them and the threats. He doesn’t even know who they are…it’s Ares! Ares is BDK and Claudio turned on heel! Carpenter Ant, Sara and Daizee all turned as well…Carpenter takes off his hood and reveals himself to be Pinkie Sanchez! Vokoder is Donst! They all do a formation, the lights go out and a Sabu chant starts. All of the faces are laid out around the ring.

A great night, but a sad night in Easton as the first half of the 2009 season finale is in the books. Tonight, we said goodbye to Hydra, who was unfairly defeated by Tim Donst in the Loser Leaves CHIKARA match, one of the most heated battles in recent CHIKARA history. The fans were strongly behind Hydra, but sadly it wasn’t enough. In a happier note, Jigsaw finally got his revenge on Gran Akuma in an incredibly hard fought main event, proving himself to be the better man in one on one competition.

1. Ophidian (10:34 ~ Reverse Rolling Prawn Hold) Hallowicked
2. Chad Badd & Brad Badd [The Badd Boys] (5:00 ~ Decapitation) Lince Dorado & Helios {L} [The Future is Now]
3. Amasis (4:27 ~ DQ: Excesivo Castigo) Carpenter Ant
4. Player Dos (11:54 ~ Frog Splash) Yujiro Kushida
5. UltraMantis Black {W}, Delirious & Crossbones [The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple] (13:20 ~ Backslide) Claudio Castagnoli, Mike Quackenbush {L} & Jorge “Skayde” Rivera

8. Fire Ant, Soldier Ant {W} & Green Ant (15:00 ~ Inverted TKO) Vin Gerard, STIGMA & Colin Delaney {L}
9. Jigsaw (15:54 ~ Super Jig’n'Tonic) Gran Akuma

Full details after the jump.

Preshow Notes: Strong crowd today of around 300-325, rolling on from the last two 200+ attended shows in Nashua and Easton. The Arena has a fresh new paintjob outside that’s almost completed that you can see here. Show started a bit late, uncharacteristic for CHIKARA.

1. El Hijo del Ice Cream & Ice Cream Jr. [Los Ice Creams] vs. Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton [The Throwbacks]: The first of a few surprise matches today, we see Los Ice Creams making their CHIKARA return after a few months off. Also, Dasher and Sugar have gotten their official name – The Throwbacks! At one point, Sugar threatened to “Bobby Knight” one of the Ice Creams, which may be the best threat made in CHIKARA history. The Throwbacks get the win with the “Grand Slam Dunk”, a Grand Slam from Dasher followed with a top rope elbow drop from Big Sugar.

2. Vin Gerard vs. Ryuichi Kawakami: Vin is replacing Eddie Kingston in this match, who is out with a severely broken nose. Surprisingly, Gerard gets the win over the young Kawakami, overcoming his strength to take the big guy down with an STF. Good match.

3. Sara del Rey & La Malcriada vs. Daizee Haze & Bullfight Sora: Big Japan referee and CHIKARA Fans’ favorite Nikkan Lee is the referee for this matchup. Daizee and Bullfight Sora get the win via excesivo castigo due to Sara’s frustrations getting the best of her. Ridiculous piledriver on Sora, then Sara pulled her up from a pin, gave her another one after a big boot and a Royal Butterfly suplex.

4. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sal Rinauro: Sal propped himself up onto Bryce’s shoulders to play a chicken Test of Strength against Claudio. Sal submits to the Giant Swing in another strong showing for Rinauro. Who would’ve thought he’d be such a good fit for CHIKARA?

5. UltraMantis Black, Chuck Taylor & STIGMA vs. Crossbones, Icarus & Colin Delaney: Apparently the main event wasn’t the only Incredibles tag match, as the rudos get one of their own in this trios showdown! Very strange happenings in this match. Vokoder came out with Mantis’ staff, Chikarason came out with a microphone and kicked him out of the building. Just when that happened, the lights went out and two BDK guys appeared in the audience. Mantis ran off and left. Crossbones, Icarus and Colin get the win via countout after Mantis’ escape. STIGMA went for the tombstone piledriver but Icarus reversed it into a prawn hold. While he had the pin, it hit at the same time as the countout so, in theory, they got two wins. Good for them!

6. Ophidian & Amasis [The Osirian Portal] vs. Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood [The Roughnecks]: The Portal are working very strongly tecnico tonight, with new music, gear and Amasis actually slapping hands with the fans. A lot of dissent between the Roughnecks tonight, more than usual. Brodie accidentally hit Grizz with a big boot. The Osirian Portal get their third point after an Osirian Sacrament on Grizzly. Brodie laid out Grizz with another boot after the match, laying him out for over five minutes.

7. Torneo Cibernetico: Mike Quackenbush, Hallowicked, Player Uno, Nick Jackson, Carpenter Ant, Lince Dorado, Cheech Hernandez & Soldier Ant (captain) vs. Fire Ant (captain), Jigsaw, Matt Jackson, Player Dos, K.C. “Cloudy” Day, Frightmare, Green Ant & Helios: Early opinions on this match tend to focus on Frightmare and his awesomeness. However, his team fall behind first as Nick Jackson pins Green Ant in 15:58 after countering a La Magistral cradle. Hallowicked increased Soldier’s advantage in 20 minutes, eliminating Cloudy with a big boot, but five minutes later Player Dos continued his winning ways over Player Uno, pinning him with the frog splash. Frightmare eliminated Cheech Hernandez in 32:43 with the moonsault double knee drop. Mike Quackenbush pinned Matt Jackson at 36:53 with the QD3, Player Dos pinned Nick Jackson at 39:15 with an inside cradle, then Carpenter Ant used a Burning Hammer at 40:16 to send Frightmare to the showers. Lince Dorado forced his TFIN buddy Jigsaw to submit to the CHIKARA Special and he then did the double, eliminating Player Dos in 43:02. Helios fell to Hallowicked’s super fisherman buster at 46:18, leaving it at 5 vs. 1.

2. Claudio Castagnoli (6:26 ~ UFO) Player Uno
3. Four-Way Elimination Tag: Ophidian & Amasis [The Osirian Portal] (15:38) Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson [Young Bucks], Chuck Taylor & Icarus [F.I.S.T.], Sugar Dunkerton & Dasher Hatfield
- Dasher Hatfield (7:19 ~ Springboard Oklahoma Roll) Icarus

6. NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Mike Quackenbush (5:38 ~ Headlock Takeover) Sal Rinauro
7. UltraMantis Black {W} & Crossbones [The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple] (8:40 ~ Praying Mantis Bomb) Green Ant {L} & Carpenter Ant [The Colony]
8. CHIKARA Young Lions Cup ~ V2: Player Dos (10:16 ~ B13) Frightmare
9. CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas ~ V1: Fire Ant & Soldier Ant [The Colony] (2-0) Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood [The Roughnecks]
9a. Fire Ant {W} & Soldier Ant (15:58 ~ Spiked Beach Break) Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood {L}
9b. Fire Ant {W} & Soldier Ant (3:23 ~ Spiked Beach Break) Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood {L}

1. Vin Gerard vs. Lince Dorado: Vin’s wearing a sars guard to the ring. Vin starts off with cough-based offense. Finish sees Lince miss a shooting star press and then Vin hitting the crosslegged northern lights suplex for the win.

2. Player Uno vs. Claudio Castagnoli: – Claudio wins in a good match with the fix-your-pants helicopter spin. Ref Nick Papa got hit and missed a rollup pin by Uno just before that.

Also there are about 200 here including referee Matt Dillon. The crowd is pretty into it as well.

3. 4-Way Elimination: The Young Bucks vs. [b]The Osirian Portal[/b] vs. Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton vs. F.I.S.T (Chuck Taylor & Icarus): Sugar Dunkerton wears #69. Dasher pins Icarus after springboarding into the ring and rolling Icarus up, the crowd gets on their feet for the elimination. Amasis pins Dasher after Egyptian conniption. Ophidian hits cobra clutch suplex, can you dig it combo from opposite corners for the win.

4. Hallowicked vs. Helios: Helios wins with 630 senton.

5. Jigsaw vs. STIGMA: Crazy action outside the ring before the match! The irony lost on a wrestling crowd telling STIGMA to lose weight is astounding. Jigsaw wins with a top rope sunset flip in a very good match, Akuma runs in afterward and half nelson suplexes Jigsaw.

6. NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champioship: Mike Quackenbush (c) vs. Sal Rinauro: Sal is effing hilarious. Hahaha Quack wins with a headlock takeover pin, this match was seriously awesome without much technical wrestling. Haha Sal just said ‘no one gets pinned with a headlock takeover!’

7. UltraMantis Black & Crossbones vs. Green Ant & Carpenter Ant: Vökoder out with Mantis’ staff, he argues with the ref while UMB hits Green Ant with the staff, praying mantis bomb for the pin.

8. CHIKARA Young Lions Cup ~ V2: Player Dos (c) vs. Frightmare: Dos wins with the top rope B13 (super snapmare driver).

9. CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas ~ V1: Fire Ant & Soldier Ant [The Colony] (c) vs. Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood [The Roughnecks]:

Primera Caida:Why did 2 large people just shield their eyes from grizzly taking his shirt off, he’s ripped as hell. Soldier Ant just saluted some young fans for about 3 legit minutes prematch. Brodie with a suicide dive to the outside holy crap! Tag team spike beach break on Grizzly, Colony up 1-0.

Segunda Caida:BRODIE IS KILLING THE ANTS RIGHT NOW, wait until you see the Liger bomb and two-hand choke german suplex, omg. TKO on Brodie! Tag team spike beach break on Grizzly, Colony wins 2-0! Good, fun, hard-hitting match!

The big day is here, readers of CHIKARA Fans – the final day of Young Lions Cup VII! In just a few short hours, a new king of the singles’ land will be named, and it’ll either be The UnStable’s Colin Delaney, or one of this year’s biggest surprise singles competitors, Super Smash Brother Player Dos. That’s not all that’s set for today, though, as we’ll also see the continuation of the traditional Golden Dream match as three trios of former YLC holders will do battle. Add into the mix a four-corner elimination tag match that could see a team gain three points in a matter of one match, a rematch from last night’s showdown between Mascarita Dorada and Pierrothito, the latest battle in the ongoing feud between Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston…and we’re in for one heck of an afternoon in Philadelphia! Thanks – and more importantly, a very happy birthday – to Whittle for hooking us up yet again today.

Preshow Notes: Really strong attendance today, the line outside longer than for your average Philly show on a Sunday. Might possibly be related to the rave reviews of the CHIKARA product at the Dragon Gate USA show last month. Estimated number is 350-375, not bad at all.

1. Dasher Hatfield, Player Uno & Yellow Dog vs. Tim Donst & Hydra [Sea Donsters] & K.C. “Cloudy” Day: How far Create-a-Wrestler has come in one weekend; the guy’s leading off his own trio now as the unofficial captain as his squad enters to the ring to the sounds of “Tessie”. The old timey king of swing backs up that nickname with pure strength, lifting the man-monster Hydra up and swinging him like a Louisville Slugger at Donst and Cloudy! Dasher maintains dominance by pinning Hydra following his patented Grand Slam. However all doesn’t stay happy for long as after the match, Tim Donst takes out his mounting frustrations by throwing Hydra with a German suplex, then hitting Cloudy with a belly-to-belly and heelin’ it up all over the place.

2. Grizzly Redwood & Brodie Lee [The Roughnecks] vs. Darin Corbin & Ryan Cruz [North Star Express: Another really fun match, though nothing too outstanding. However, the Roughnecks gain their third point and their own title shot as Grizzly comes off the top with the Axehandle Doomsday Device on Cruz to get them the win.

3. 4-Corners Elimination Tag Team Match: UltraMantis Black & Delirious [The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple] vs. Gran Akuma & Icarus [F.I.S.T.] vs. Soldier Ant & Green Ant [The Colony] vs. Halcon Guerrero & Chiva VI: Before we even had time to figure out if this was actually the sixth Chiva, Mantis put the goat away with a Cosmic Disaster to eliminate the random Mexican team. Not too long after, Delirious puts down Green Ant with the Praying Mantis Bomb. This now moves Mantis and Delirious up to two points, meaning that the winner of the fall between the Neo-Solar Temple and Team F.I.S.T. will also gain their third point. Icarus rolled up Ultramantis Black to get the win and F.I.S.T.’s third point as Mantis was distracted by a man in all white. This man delivered a mysterious white box with a note in it; Mantis threw the box into the crowd after the match.

4. Mascarita Dorada vs. Pierrothito: In a very similar match to the one in Easton the night before, Mascarita Dorada regained the honor of his mother by putting away Pierrothito with a wacky lucha pin.

Intermission.

5. Mike Quackenbush & Jorge “Skayde” Rivera vs. Frightmare & Turbo: Turbo fought down the dastardly border guards with the help of his friend in small stature Frightmare, and now they take on the biggest challenge yet – two thirds of the Masters of 1000 Holds! In a complete lucha clinic that saw all four guys push themselves to their limits, Quackenbush pinned Turbo with the Quackendriver. Best match so far tonight!

6. Eddie Kingston vs. Claudio Castagnoli: One heck of a match here, tons of drama like you’d only expect these two to bring in the CHIKARA rings. Kingston hits a Backfist to the Future and a Saito Suplex, Claudio rolls out of the ring to recover. In a move of desperation, Kingston attempts a tope but misses. Claudio rolls back into the ring at the count of nineteen to win via countout.

7. Golden Dream Triple Threat Trios Match: Vin Gerard, STIGMA & Chuck Taylor vs. Jimmy “Equinox” Olsen, Helios & Jigsaw vs. Fire Ant, Hallowicked & Arik Cannon: Remember that hair tonic that Chuck Taylor got from the Big Japan young boy in exchange for the Green Ant costume? Well, it has turned his entire head green, much to the comedic delight of the tecnicos. Reportedly one of the best CHIKARA matches of the year! Fire Ant was launched to the outside by his teammates Wicked and Cannon, shooting him into the barricades so hard that they were bent to a ridiculous degree. Wicked pinned STIGMA with a top rope fisherman’s buster for the win. “This was awesome!”

…Intermission #2?! The Curse of the Golden Dream continues, as the ring was broken for the second time in a row in Golden Dream matches, the last one being when Max Boyer’s face broke the ring back in 2005. To make time for the ring crew, Bryce and Louden did a quick song and dance number.

8. Young Lions Cup ~ Final: Colin Delaney vs. Player Dos: We’ll be sure to get more details when our fans on the board head home, but Player Dos is your new Young Lions Cup champion, defeating Colin Delaney with a very bizarre move off the top rope. “Strangely anticlimactic” finish, though it seems that the Cup didn’t come without a price as Dos may have hurt his left shoulder in the process.

The big Young Lions Cup weekend rolls on tonight with the second night of tournament action in Easton! After a night that saw the birth of a star in young Dasher Hatfield (the new gimmick for Create-a-Wrestler) along with a huge upset as Brandon Michael Thomas put away Frightmare in the first match of the night, the tournament’s already been one where the fans have grown to expect the unexpected. Now, with three inter-stable showdowns and the mysterious “Bret Race” making his debut, it’s certain that tonight should be more of the bizarre and incredible. Thanks to Whittle for our hookup tonight and throughout the weekend!

Preshow Notes: Show’s starting a bit late than usual. Lince Dorado is out for his match with Arik Cannon after last night’s knee injury suffered in his match with Prince Mustafa Ali. Also, Turbo is out after some issues traveling into the country. Replacements will be made for both matches. All 12 of tonight’s competitors are brought out; Bret Race mysteriously didn’t come out when his name was announced.

1. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Bret Race vs. Yellow Dog: Bret Race is, in fact, Lester Crabtree trying to sneak his way into the YLC. He came out to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” and proclaimed himself to be young and cool. He was disqualified, and his replacement was pulled out of a hat – Vocatur, the secret agent detective that’s been at recent CHIKARA shows, working a very heelish manner. Photo available at this link! Vocatur gets the win over Yellow Dog in quick fashion, around three and a half minutes with a move that was “set up like a DDT, but he fell forward”.

2. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Soldier Ant vs. Carpenter Ant: A very competitive match between the two members of the Colony. Soldier Ant hit a top rope belly to belly suplex, while Carpenter Ant matched him with a ton of neat and wacky submissions. However, it was Soldier Ant that came out on top, tapping out Carpenter with the CHIKARA Special. Fun match!

3. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Darin Corbin vs. Ryan Cruz: Match kicks into gear with a tribute to Young Lions Cup as Corbin and Cruz hit slo-mo against one another, complete with slo-mo “this is awesome” chant. Surely done just to get under the skin of Les Thatcher yet again. In a bit of an upset, Ryan Cruz puts down Corbin in 12 minutes. The less successful member of NSE in singles action reigns supreme tonight!

4. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Shane Hollister vs. Trik Davis: Fun match with both guys busting out their usual stuff. Exactly what you’d expect, except for a finish that is guaranteeing that Trik never works in this town again. Trik Davis gets the win over Shane Hollister with a QD3.

5. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Grizzly Redwood vs. El Leonino: Very much your standard fare match, nothing spectacular. The Grizz advances to the six-way semis with a Fisherman’s DDT.

6. Young Lions Cup ~ Opening Round: Player Uno vs. Player Dos: Uno looking great, quite clearly training for this Super Smash square-off as he’s lost quite a bit of weight heading into this. Looks like a new man! The two of them packed a whole lot into their eight minute match that “felt like it went twenty”, when Dos put down Uno with a frog splash.

Intermission. Skayde is feeling under the weather, but it wasn’t clarified if the match was scrapped or what’s up.

7. Arik Cannon vs. Jigsaw: Tag World ‘06 collision between two former Young Lions Cup holders here in this surprise singles matchup! Jigsaw gets the victory in ~10 minutes via superkick, very good match that may be the best of the night so far!

8. Mascarita Dorada vs. Pierrothito: Due to the unfortunate circumstances around Skayde and Turbo, Easton gets the benefit in the end and gets Philly’s big mini singles showdown that was set for tomorrow. An awesome match, Pierrothito wins in 11 minutes, tapping out Dorada with a cobra stretch. After the match, Pierrothito used some very foul language that would be a cardinal sin to repeat here. That may be your third Mexican down for the weekend after that.

9. Young Lions Cup ~ Semi-Final ~ 6-Way Elimination Match: Vocatur vs. Soldier Ant vs. Ryan Cruz vs. Trik Davis vs. Grizzly Redwood vs. Player Dos: The winner of this match goes on to face Colin Delaney tomorrow in the finals of the tournament. Vocatur wastes no time, eliminating Ryan Cruz with the move he beat Yellow Dog with in four minutes. Soon after, Grizzly Redwood goes for a suplex on Soldier Ant, but Soldier rolls through to get the pin to eliminate the Grizz. Vocatur is “gaining robotic powers” as the match goes on. Vocatur pins Trik with the DDT-ish move, but then Player Dos takes him out with the Final Smash. Soldier Ant and Player Dos are the final two left…and Dos pins Soldier Ant with the Frog Splash to advance to the finals! Player Dos vs. Colin Delaney is your big main event for tomorrow’s third night of Young Lions Cup!

It was quite the opening night in the seventh annual Young Lions Cup as half of the field took to the field and only one man walked away victorious. That man was Colin Delaney, the third UnStable member and the only member of that trio yet to have tasted Young Lions Cup gold. However, the story of the night was not Colin getting one step closer to joining Vin Gerard and STIGMA in the winner’s circle, but the transformation of Create-A-Wrestler. For the third consecutive year the former Moscow and Ultimo Breakfast received a fan-created character. This year’s winning entry – created by this site’s own Smurf and George – has arguably already brought him the most success, as Dasher Hatfield, the baseball player from yesteryear, stepped into the ring. He raised a number of eyebrows in the opening round by surviving Jason Hades’ Killswitch and going on to win, but nobody could have expected what happened in the 6-way. Dasher eliminated both Cloudy and Brendan Michael Thomas, debuting the Grand Slam to finish off the former, and he took Colin to the very limit, kicking out of numerous moves before falling at the final hurdle. Colin Delaney is your finalist but Dasher Hatfield may be here to stay.
